About the Site

This blog is an unpaid labor of love. None of specpotpourri's content is sponsored or officially endorsed by any organization or individual other than the blogger themself. Choices made regarding which poems, journals, and books to review are largely arbitrary, and updates are unlikely to follow any regular timetable.

There's a lot of very cool stuff going on in the world of speculative verse, and a review site run by one person with an unrelated day job will never do more than scratch the surface. Hopefully, though, readers of SFF poetry will find the scattered bits of info that do make it onto the blog useful.

Unless otherwise noted, all reviews, recommendations, and tips found in these pages have been written by Brittany Hause.

Brittany is a member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Poetry Association (SFPA), but any opinions expressed in the specpotpourri blog should be regarded as belonging to the author of the relevant post, and that author alone.

In addition to sporadically posting unsolicited thoughts on other people's speculative poetry to the Internet, Brittany occasionally writes the stuff themself. Examples of their work can be found here and there online and in print

This site was created using Wix ADI. The homepage header image is a detail of Oberon, Titania and Puck with Fairies Dancing, an 18th-century painting by speculative poet William Blake. Other header images are details of color-enhanced photos of Jupiter's atmosphere taken by NASA's Juno spacecraft. Except where captions indicate otherwise, all other images used on the blog are taken from the Wix database of free stock images.
